England vs Switzerland
EURO - Sat 6 Jul 2024 - 16:00 UTC
Both teams share a rather similar record in terms of results in this edition of the tournament, having both won their first game, drawn the following two and won their fourth. However in the previous round, it took a late equaliser and a goal in extra-time for England to finally qualify against Croatia (2-1 AET), while the Swiss’ qualification against Italy was obtained in a more impressive fashion (2-0).
Netherlands vs Turkey
EURO - Sat 6 Jul 2024 - 19:00 UTC
After a rather sluggish display in the group stage that saw them finish third in Group D, the Dutch team has produced an impressive attacking performance in the previous round against Romania (3-0). That final Quarter-final between the Oranje and the Crescent-Stars in Berlin’s Olympiastadion is shaping up as quite a promising clash: Turkey have won 3 of their 4 matches and both teams have scored a total of 7 goals since the beginning of the tournament (only Germany and Spain have scored more).
Spain 2-1 Germany
EURO - Fri 5 Jul 2024 - 16:00 UTC
After a tough battle against the Mannschaft, Spain had to go through extra-time to earn their qualification for the semi-finals.
On the 52nd minute, on the right edge of the box, Yamal squares it low for Dani Olmo, who strikes it first time from the penalty spot into the lower left corner (1-0).
Three minutes before the end, Mittelstadt drills a deep lofted cross from the left corner of the box to the back post. Kimmich heads it back in front of the goal and, from the left handside of the box, Wirtz' volley hits the ground and enters the opposite corner of the net via the post (1-1).
On the last minute of extra-time, from the left corner of the box, Olmo plays a deep cross into the box for Merino's header from the edge of the six-yard box, and the ball goes high into the left corner (2-1).
Portugal vs France
EURO - Fri 5 Jul 2024 - 19:00 UTC
After a strong start with two wins in their first two games, scoring 5 goals in the process, the Portuguese have failed to score in their following two matches against Goergia and Slovenia. It took a penalty shootout for Roberto Martínez’ men to qualify for the Quarter-finals.
As for the French, the problems on the scoring front have been present since the first match. So far, Les Bleus have a record of only 3 goals scored in 4 games. Of those 3 goals, two are own-goals and the other one was scored on penalty. However this low scoring record does not seem to stem from a lack of chances. France’s defensive record has been quite impressive though, conceding very few chances and only one goal (scored on penalty) in 4 matches.
